Would you like to speak at Reasons? Have you got a session that people would like to see? We are always on the look out for new talent.
What we want to know:
Every year we get inundated with speaker proposals. We want to say yes to everyone but of course simply don't have the room.
For the past few years, we have discovered a mass of talent through our Elevator Pitch. It wass exactly what the title suggested - 20 'newbies' / 'oldies' / whatever you want to call them, get 3 minutes to show their best work, a new idea, live coding, live drawing, whatever.
This year, we have shaken up the Elevator Pitch, and are calling it Gimme Five!. Instead of 20, there will be 12 presenters. Instead of 3 minutes, they get 5 minutes.
What do you get out of it? - It is a chance for new speakers who are not doing sessions during the conference to get great exposure. What do we get? A chance for us, the audience to see new talent. What else?
Actually, there is more! In the past, the top 3 presentations (voted by the audience) got invited back to do full sessions. We are going to continue that tradition, but as we only have 12 presenters, it will be the top 2 voted by the audience that get invited back.
Anyone accepted to do a Gimme Five! will be given a full 3 day pass. A 3 day pass for a 5 minute presentation! Pretty cool eh?
Gimme Five! is a mish mash of designers, developers and creatives throwing down their stuff in 5 minutes!
