Tom Muller designs comics, culture, entertainment and technology -- and has done so for the last 16 years. Amongst the clients and brands he collaborates with he counts Image Comics, WIRED, DC Comics, Universal Studios, TV Guide, Flipboard, Zonza, WGSN, Paramount Pictures, Muse Productions, and StudioCanal -- for whom he has designed and led projects that range from brand identities, international web campaigns to print and publication designs.
A prolific print and logo designer, he has frequently collaborated with artist Ashley Wood, has regularly worked with DC Comics, and was responsible for the design of the multi-award winning anthology Comic Book Tattoo for Tori Amos.
Recently he has been working with writer Ales Kot on the critically acclaimed spy fiction series ZERO, and collaborated with Darren Aronofsky on the graphic novel NOAH, which is based on an early draft of the of the script for the feature film Noah, directed by Aronofsky.
Since 2011 he runs his own studio - helloMuller - from London and continues to work across the full spectrum of design.
Designing the spaces in-between.
"If you can design one thing, you can design everything" -- Massimo Vignelli.
"When you design a kitchen, you should also design the patterns on the tea towels and the graphics on the coffee mugs." -- My dad.
"Your eyes are always bigger than your stomach!" -- My wife.
"You're always working." -- Also, my wife.
Design is a long game that requires patience, hard graft, and a hunger to chase the projects you want to make and create opportunities when there are none, even if it sometimes means to work for free. Its about finding the sweet spot between clients and industries -- the space in-between where everything connects.
Its about the journey from growing up with my dad's designs to sitting next to Hugh Jackman at a movie premiere. EPIC.
