Angie Taylor is a motion graphic designer. She has recently retired from freelancing and now runs a private art school near Brighton called Creative Cabin. Angie offers unique "creative escape" one-to-one courses on motion graphic design, video editing, illustration, photography and animation. She specialises in creative software such as Adobe After Effects, Cinema 4D, Premiere Pro, Photoshop and Illustrator.
She has trained many of Brighton's leading creatives including designers and animators from Modern Toss, Bliink, Factory Films and Lucky Fox. Angie is a Lynda.com instructor with several titles on After Effects, Cinema 4D and Illustrator.
She is the author of several books including Creative After Effects and Design Essentials for the Motion Media Artist. Angie is a visiting lecturer on the MA Digital Media Arts course at the University of Brighton.
In her heyday Angie provided visual effects on the John Williams-directed Hibernation, winner of six awards at international film festivals, including best short award at the 2005 Manhattan, Rhode Island, Edinburgh and Zagreb Film festivals. She worked with D-Fuse designing animation for cutting-edge BeckDVD Guero and created animations for the controversial Aphex Twin / Chris Cunningham collaboration Rubber Johnny.
2D character animation - essential principles, scripts and software
Traditional 2D character animation can be a laborious and time-consuming process. In this session I'll share my essentials tips and techniques for making the processes involved in 2D character animation less painful. I'll also show how you can apply some of the essential principles of animation to your work to bring it to life and make it more engaging.
There have been many recent developments in software used for 2D character animation. We'll take a look at some of these including Adobe Character Animator which is maturing in leaps and bounds.
