Speaker Proposals

We spend a lot of time researching and watching speakers. We usually choose speakers once we have seen them speak, and most are confirmed months in advance.

If, however, you are a persistent type, and would like to send us a proposal, this is what we need:

  • » Full name
  • » Social links - Twitter/Instagram/Facebook/Vimeo etc
  • » Your bio (min 50 - max 150 words)
  • » Session title
  • » Session description (min 50 - max 150 words)
  • » Where you live
  • » What speaking experience you have
  • » Links to any video's of talks you have done
  • » A headshot

The Elevator Pitch (Sept 2017)

The Elevator Pitch is one of the most popular sessions at Reasons to. We give 20 up and coming speakers 3 minutes to show their best work, a new idea, live coding, live drawing, whatever.

What do they get out of it?
- A full 3 day pass to the event for free
- It is a chance for new speakers to get great exposure
- The top 3 voted by the audience get invited back to do full sessions the following year

What do we get?
- A chance for us, the audience to see new talent

The Elevator Pitch is a mish-mash of designers, developers and creatives presenting work, side projects, ideas and stuff they are proud of in 3 minutes!

How do we choose?

Our mission statement is to deliver the best conference with the best speakers.

Gender, race, or ethnicity are not considerations in our decision making process, just as height or shoe size would not affect our choice of speaker. If you have a great session proposal, and are a good public speaker, then we will consider your session proposal. If your proposed session fits in with the balance of the event, then we want you! We do not accept all proposals, but, we consider every one of them. If you feel there is an imbalance in our line-up, then we encourage you to send in a proposal, or encourage others to send in a proposal.

Looking forward to getting your session proposal.
