Elevator Pitch

Elevator Pitch

About

Every year we get inundated with speaker proposals. We want to say yes to everyone but of course simply don't have the room.

The Elevator Pitch is exactly what the title suggests - 20 'newbies / oldies' / whatever you want to call them, get 3 minutes to show their best work, a new idea, live coding, live drawing, whatever.

It is a chance for new speakers who are not doing sessions during the conference to get great exposure. What do we get? A chance for us, the audience to see new talent. Pretty cool eh?

The Elevator Pitch is a mish mash of designers, developers and creatives throwing down their stuff in 3 minutes!

Without doubt, the Elevator Pitch is one of the most popular sessions of the festival.

It is fast paced, exciting, and fresh. Each pitcher has sent proposals, has rehearsed (and rehearsed, and rehearsed), and is now ready to throw down! Make no mistake, this is one session you do not want to miss. Not only is a lot of fun, but you get to decide your favourite three pitches, and those speakers then get invited back next year to give full sessions!

Who has done Elevator Pitches in the past? - Here are a few names: Jon Howard, Luke Whittaker, Frank Reitberger, Iain Lobb, Tom Vian, Tom Platten-Higgins, Wouter Verweirder, Jop Wielens, and of course, the most recent winners - Nadieh Bremer, Will Appiah and Phil Corbett!
